As we believe that cleaning shouldn’t cost the earth, the brains behind Green Heart Clean have put together 5 quick and easy DIY recipes for your very own homemade cleaning products.
1. Multi-Purpose Spray
This spray can help replace many cleaning products you may already have! This multi-purpose can also be used in the bathroom as well! All you need is 2/3 ingredients:
Ingredients:
- Hot water
- 1/4 Cup of white vinegar
- 2 Tbsp of castile soap or any eco-friendly washing up liquid!
- 1 Tbsp Borax (optional)
Instructions
Fill a spray bottle ( we suggest this one) with the white vinegar and soap and fill the rest of the bottle with hot water. Ta-da your very own homemade multi-purpose spray.
2. Glass & Window Cleaner

Ingredients:
- Hot water
- 1 cup White vinager
- Essential oils (optional)
Instructions
Fill a spray bottle with 1 cup of white vinegar then fill the rest with hot water. Add a few drops of essential oil for an extra touch. Shake well then you’re good to go!
3. Toilet Cleaner
Help make your toilets shine with our homemade toilet cleaner!
Ingredients:
- Hot water
- 1/2 Cup baking soda
- 1/2 Cup castile soap
- Lavender oil
Instructions
With a spray bottle, fill it up with the Casile soap, hot water and lavender oil. Then add your baking soda and shake well to mix the ingredients together. Now it’s ready to make your toilet shine. We recommended leaving for 10 minutes after applying.
- Oven Degreaser
Cleaning ovens isn’t fun. Especially when it involves all those harmful chemicals that make it hard to stand in the same room, let alone by the oven. Our homemade oven cleaner can help make cleaning ovens fun again!
Ingredients:
- Hot water
- White vinegar
- Baking soda
Instructions
Preheat your oven to loosen up any built-up grime for 30 minutes, once slightly cooled, spray some white vinegar over the inside of your oven. Once a couple of minutes has passed, you can begin to wipe away all the built-up grime and old burnt food.
If this doesn’t work, before the above steps trying sprinkling baking soda in the oven, spray with water and leave overnight!
5. Sink Hole Cleaner
Does your sinkhole sometimes smell? But don’t want to pour a bunch of chemicals down the drain hole? We have a full around the products that can help remove that odour!
Ingredients:
- Hot water
- 1/2 Baking Soda
- 1/3 cup white vinegar
- Lavender oil
Instructions
Pour 1/2 Baking soda over your sinkhole, then either spray or pour 1/3 white vinegar over the top of the baking soda. Add a few drops of lavender oil then pour a whole kettle full of hot water down the sinkhole. Allow the mixture to foam up, then it will fall down your sink hole.
