What is great about the cleaning cabinet is that not only does it offer essential cleaning and household products, it offers a wide range of zero waste foods.
As an athlete I am constantly eating to help refuel my body as well as prepare for the next training session. The Cleaning Cabinet does a great job at providing healthy food and snack options for my athlete dietary needs as well as keeping it zero waste!
Entirely all snacks we buy at the food shops are always wrapped in some packaging which eventually ends up in landfills. Did you know, The amount of plastic packaging that is thrown away every single year is enough in length to circle the globe four times over. Furthermore the rate of plastic wastage is growing at a rate of 9% every year. (https://ribble-pack.co.uk/blog/plastic-packaging-destroying-environment)
Reading this shocking statistic really opened my eyes on how as consumers, we can choose where we put our money and how that will affect the outcome. I do my best to utilize shopping at the Cleaning Cabinet to reduce my waste.
Some of my fav refill items are oats (I love making oatmeal for breakfast), dried mangos (the best post workout and study snack), and pasta (carbs are essential for athletes). See below one of my easy recipes.

Ingredients you need
- 1 cup oats
- 1 spoonful of applesauce
- 1 flax egg (optional) – I like it because it’s high in omega3
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Vanilla extract
- Melted butter (just melted a spoonful)
- Maple syrup
- Chia seeds
Mix all ingredients and put into an oven safe dish (I got this mini ramekin at Tesco) and bake at 170°c for about 30min! I topped my oats with @alpro Greek yogurt and frozen raspberries!
