CLEAN STAINLESS STEEL IN 3 EASY STEPS

Stainless steel is meant to be stain proof, however, in the cleaning field, we have found this theory to be semi-true. During the manufacture of the protective film used in covering the surface of stainless steel, this sometimes does not cover the entire surface. This means that the uncovered areas are open to discolouration and dirt from building sites. Other stains can come from lifetime use of the stainless steel, either as part of a POS (place of sale) unit or the kitchen cabinet. Food stains and watermarks are some of the many things that can stain stainless steel. If you are planning on removing stains from stainless steel then you should follow the 3sipmle steps below. These pictures are from our recent commercial builders and sparkle cleaning of Marks and Spencer in Bedford.

STAGE 1

Apply good cleaning paste along the grain lines.

STAGE 2

Rub the paste into the surface along the grain lines. If the rubbing motion is across the cleaned areas will look odd (scratch finishes) after the cleaning is completed.

Use a soft sponge to press the paste against the surface to scrub off the outermost layer. Do this along the grainline so that the cleaned surface will be consistent with the rest of the surface finish.

The rubbing can be done with a soft cloth or a soft cleaning sponge as seen in the picture above.

Close up, the application of cleaning paste should be like this.

STAGE 3

Remove the excess paste and buff the surface.

Close up of the cleaned surface. After the scrub, the surface cleaned must be wiped with a microfiber cloth so that it removed the excess paste and buff the surface at the same time.

That’s it. You can do it in 3 easy steps. Of course, we have demonstrated with a small area but you may have a larger surface to clean, you just need to start from one end and finish at the other. We wish you good luck with removing stains from stainless steel that are bothering you.
