Zero Waste Refill Store in Loughborough Town

You may not know but we started The Cleaning Cabinet on the 16th of September 2019 first online alone. Soon after, we started attending the Loughborough Market on Saturdays in October to give customers the chance to have a wide range of refill options for their cleaning and laundry solutions as well as other Sustainable, plastic-free, affordable Top-notch cleaning and personal care products. Yes, I am aware that was a mouthful but it is true that all our products are as we describe. This means we are constantly testing our own products and dropping whatever falls below our standard. 

In March 2020, we had a great opportunity to launch a fixed shop at the Carillon Court shopping centre in Loughborough. It was a great find, they call it a kiosk as it is very small at just over 5m Square in size but it is perfect for us.

We soon realised that pumping the refill solutions out of the containers with the dispensers was becoming a chore and customers had to wait longer for simple refills. And since we are so serious about our refill system being effective for our customers, we invested in some Ezi-action® pump from The New Zealand Company. Now, customers can visit our shop and refill faster than before into any kind of bottle (plastic, tin or glass).

Why are we doing this?

Essentially to reduce packaging waste, especially plastic used for liquid cleaning, laundry and hygiene solutions. We need to adopt a reuse and refill solution for optimum sustainability and promote a closed-loop for products that can be easily dispensed in bulk. In addition to this, it is absolutely cheaper (view prices below) to refill than to buy new bottles that would just end up thrown away. What you really need is the content which you can refill from ourselves or many other refill shops all over the country.
